Deed Restrictions
Sandalwood Subdivision actively enforces it's Deed Restrictions for the protection of the property value of all residents. Any construction in the subdivision must be approved by the Sandalwood Architectural Control Committee prior to the start of construction. This includes additions to the house, storage buildings, garages, fences, swimming pools, etc. Approval of the proposed construction can only be granted by the Committee after review by the Committee of a final set of plans for the proposed construction. Violation of this procedure may result in "red-tagging" of the construction by the City of Houston. Red-tagging is a procedure whereby the City revokes the building permit for construction; construction cannot legally proceed until the violation is remedied. The Harris County Attorney's Office also enforces Deed Restrictions in both the City and the County under state mandate.
